The emergence of new chemical compounds (such as organic and inorganic products, and pesticides) associated with improper management by human activities, and even their natural composition in the soil along areas close to water reserves (surface or groundwater), can contribute to increased levels of contamination and pollution and pose potential health risks to consumers. In this context, it is important to analyze the water quality indices of large and smal river basins that supply a large population. The Montes Claros River, a microbasin located in northeastern Goiás, is of great importance as the primary available natural resource and supplies the municipality of Campos Belos, Goiás.
