The neighborhood is a bridge between the general and private spheres of man, becoming a type of resource to identify himself through urban appropriating and creating comfort places in the city that can represent his behaviors, cultures and identities. Taking the traditional neighborhood in Goiânia, Setor Aeroporto, as our study object, we embarked on a journey to recognize the history and memory behind its consolidation. Through in-depth study occupation process and how neighboring and entire city of Goiânia influenced this neighborhood to structure itself over the years. In addition, we also search for ways to understand the reasons that led to development of such distinct landscapes within its perimeter. This research was guided by bibliographic, documentary and iconographic reviews, as well using the oral histories that were told by former residents of Setor Aeroporto combined with an investigation of daily life based on precepts of urban ethnography, cartography and morphological studies that together enabled a reconstruction of new narratives about Setor Aeroporto history. Gathering information from different sources, we were able to cross new ways of interpreting this neighborhood evolution.
