This cycle constitutes the central focus of the research, which seeks to understand how Andrade weaves together, within it, the historical, theoretical, and aesthetic questions that profoundly shaped his production. Drawing on a close examination of the plays, the dissertation analyzes the historical influences that permeate the cycle—especially the formation of São Paulo shaped by agrarian conflicts, the tensions between tradition and modernity, and the crisis of the coffee-growing elites.
