Focusing on the tension between urban expansion and the conservation of natural resources, the study highlights the relevance of land use and occupation legislation and public policies aimed at reducing these incompatibilities. Assessing the effectiveness of these policies in controlling environmental degradation and pollution, the research suggests the need for legislative revisions and urban management strategies adapted to the particularities of Goiânia. It proposes a critique of current urban planning parameters, recommending more sustainable and inclusive practices.
