This study evaluated, using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and optical microscopy, the occurrence of failures in the cementation of glass fiber posts subjected to different UA protocols. Forty bovine roots were standardized in length and randomly assigned to four groups (n = 10): G1 – no activation; G2 – sealer activation; G3 – post activation; and G4 – combined activation (sealer and post). The posts were anatomically shaped and cemented with a self-adhesive and self-etching resin cement according to each group’s protocol. After 30 days of storage in saline solution, the samples were analyzed by CBCT to detect failures at the sealer-dentin interface in the cervical, middle, and apical thirds. Subsequently, the roots were sectioned for microscopic analysis of marginal adaptation and classification of failures based on the number of walls exhibiting gaps at the adhesive interface. Statistical analysis (Kruskal-Wallis test; p < 0.05) revealed no significant differences among the groups. It was concluded that the tested UA protocols did not significantly influence the quality of post cementation.Acesso RestritoEmbargado pelo autor.Pino de fibra de vidroAtivação ultrassônicaCimentaçãoTomografia computadorizada de feixe cônicoAdaptação marginalFiber postUltrasonic activationCone-beam computed tomographyMarginal adaptationCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIAEfeito da ativação ultrassônica na cimentação de pinos de fibra de vidro: análise por tomografia e microscopia ópticaEffect of ultrassonic activation on the cementation of fiber posts: analysis by tomography and optical microscopyDissertação
