First of all, it is proposed to apply heuristic algorithms for estimation of the parameters in the single diode model of the photovoltaic panel. Then, it is analyzed how the temperature and the irradiance affect these parameters, and consequently, the generated power by the panel. It is also analyzed the operations of DC-DC converters and some MPPT algorithms for maintenance of maximum power and voltage control, presenting their differences, advantages and disadvantages. Finally, two proposals are presented for new MPPT algorithms based on the Incremental Conductance algorithm and on Model Predictive Control (MPC) techniques.
