We studied the participation in these protests as an expression of democracy and citizenship. To better understand the field from which the research sample was derived, we reviewed the potential of digital networks to become familiar with their characteristics and the opportunities they offer internet users to participate in the public. The analysis of hypertext and comments posted by internet users in the selected materials allowed us to determine that citizenship is the responsibility of the internet user, the reader.
