Uma represa para o povo: a reabilitação urbana no Parque Clube do Povo em Catalão (GO)

Abstract

In view of the considerable disregard for public spaces in the urban planning of the city of Catalão, especially those intended for leisure and sports, the case of the Clube do Povo Reservoir – an urban park with great ecological, environmental and recreation in the city. Created in 1984, the Dam was consolidated as a park, especially after its revitalization, in 2004, when it started to offer various sports with greater infrastructure, however, the intervention did not fully elucidate the problems present in the region, which still has flaws in safety, accessibility , comfort and mobility, affecting the full and democratic use of space, aswell as the local urban landscape. In this way, this work aims to understand in what context the Clube do Povo dam is inserted as an urban park for the Catalan community, assimilating ideas that develop a rehabilitation project in line with the demands of the area for its users.
