Patrimônio geológico: síntese terminológica e evolução conceitual

Abstract

Geological Heritage is the portion of geodiversity that has superlative value and for this reason needs to be conserved. The term has received several definitions in recent decades, and because it is a terminology used by scientists with diverse academic backgrounds such as: geographers, geologists, paleontologists, geomorphologists, turismologists, among others, finding a concept that fits in all these areas is not an easy task. The Geological Heritage is often referred to as Geoheritage, a more comprehensive term that is directly related to its subdivisions. In the present work was performed a research and theoretical-reflective analysis of the definitions of Geological Heritage present in the scientific literature. The result was a conceptual synthesis on the theme, aiming to contribute to its development
