This paper aims to comprehend the perception of relationships in mid twentieth and twenty-first centuries by comparing two works of great success: the novel Magali by M. Delly and the romantic trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. From a historical and anthropological analysis of the sources, it seeks to understand the discursive construction performed about primary social constructions between genders, revealing the structuring of expectations about the behaviors, values and social conducts expected in the best-selling novels that are vehicles of mass disclosure. So, it analyzes the forms of the propagation of emotional and social ideals historically constructed that exist in our society
