Resumo
In Virgilian epic we examine the promises of deification of the hero Aeneas and
his descendants expressed in the plot of the Aeneid, those prophecies give to
the house of rulers to which belongs the Emperor Augustus, the Domus Iulia,
legitimacy and divine ancestrality. The Trojan legend was the subject of great
investment during the Principate. Beyond of Virgil, the issue of Aeneas’ deification
emerges in a number of contemporary writers and poets - Livy, Dionysius of
Halicarnassus and Ovid.
