hisarticleaimstoidentifyaspectsofsubmissionandnon-submissionintheconceptionofthedragimageinthequeeruniverse,hencethetermdragqueer;andelucidatetheconstructionofthisartthroughthesocialimaginary.Itbeginswithastudyofdragart,guidedbyabriefhistorybasedonthetextbyIgorAmanajás.Thereisnointentionofprovidingageneraloverviewofdraghistoryhere.Italsodiscusseshowdragartistsaresubjecttoaestheticandsocioculturalinfluencesandpressures,inadditiontothevisionofthemselvesandothersintheprocessoftheirassembly.Finally,theconceptofcontrasexuality,byPaulPreciado,wasusedtosuggestawayofdiscussingdragart.
