Item Violência e trauma em "Mãos de cavalo", de Daniel Galera(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2016-02-17) Xavier, Luiz Gustavo Osorio; Ribeiro, Renata RochaLiterature helps us break with automated perceptions and helps us change the ways in which we perceive reality. Among the universal themes represented in literature, is violence. Through literary representation, one can observe how violence develops and interferes in social relations and in the psychology of those involved in cases of violence, be they perpetrators, victims or spectators. The aim of this study is to analyze the representation of violence and trauma caused by the testimony of a brutal form of violence in the novel Mãos de Cavalo, written by Daniel Galera, a contemporary brazilian author. From a psychoanalytic analysis of the theme, based on the studies of Suzana Muszkat (2011), Márcio Seligmann-Silva (2015), Jaime Ginzburg (2012), Maria Laurinda Ribeiro de Souza (2012), Cezar Dal Follo da Rosa Jr. (2005), among other authors; this study aims to discuss topics such as masculinity, trauma, melancholy, apathy, silencing, in addition to the various forms of violence depicted in the novel chosen for analysis. This study was conducted through a literature search that sought to address all the issues mentioned above. Besides contributing to the studies of criticism and literary theory by increasing the critical fortune of a work and of a contemporary Brazilian author still little studied, this research seeks to question the relationship between violence and the hegemonic concept, based on patriarchal values, of masculinity. Also, this research aims to establish the relationship between violence and trauma; observe, from the literary analysis, how trauma causes melancholy, isolation, apathy and silencing in some people.
