Resumo

7 ABSTRACT It is the study of informational culture of high school students graduating from state schools in Goiânia, addressing the relationship of these students with new technologies and also their relationship with the information on this new social context, in order to verify that this contributes to the unsatisfactory results of the public released by the National Examination Secondary Education (ENEM). The study was conducted in five state schools with classes of the third year of high school. The research is a qualitative study, using, for data collection, a questionnaire distributed in three blocks. The motivation of this research focuses on the fact that today the Internet provides a wealth of information to students, who still dominate extremely complicated software, but do not perform well in school content. Thus, from a brief socioeconomic profile of these students, we tried to learn from their relationship with new technologies to view them also on the possible causes of poor results paraded for public education in the examination in question. It was found that the computer is present in the homes of these students, regardless of adverse financial conditions, and that excessive "navigation" on the internet interfere, yes, the quality of studies and need a job teaching grounded in media education and school library.
