Resumo
This monograph discusses the importance of developing reading practices which can wake up the taste and pleasure for the art of reading. Emphasizes reading best sellers as a bridge to expand and propagate such an exercise. It discusses the influence of mass literature and how this can be worked on in order to aggregate knowledge and values. Presents a theoretical and practical design. Explains through the concepts of best sellers that this is not a literary genre, and that the best sellers can present in many types of genres, however, can be turned into best sellers or be written with just this purpose. Discusses issues related to prejudice in reading. This in turn, is characterized by action and control. The present work performed a qualitative and descriptive research, applying a script for writing in the form of a questionnaire, with the intent to find out if in fact the practice of reading best sellers can influence the search for further reading. Demonstrates that it was not possible to verify this proposition, because students do not made it clear whether they are influenced or not by this practice of reading. Therefore, it was possible to confirm what other researchers point out that the best sellers are influencing the practice of reading itself and instigates the taste for reading.
