Resumo
The analyses of the cientific publications
its a way to get to know the production
of a determinated área and at the
some time get to know the thematics tendencies,
detecting the gaps on the cientific
investigation.
lt's also an important instrument
on the defínition of the priorits to guide
politic planing of the science and thecnology.
To try to stimate this view on the
brazilian cientific production in relative
to 4 of the main endemics (Chagas disease,
Schistosomosis, Malária and Leishmaniasis)
was proced a statistic of the publications
in the period of 1979 to 1983
through the Tropical Diseases Bulletin.
In the total of 6956 catalogated articles
on the four pathologies 645 (9,3%)
were of brazilian origin and this percentual
reachs 15,7% in relation to the Chagas
Disease and 10,6% to the schistosomosis. The historie analysis of the period
show a fluctuation of this particlpatlon
with a tendency to decrease specially In
1983. To get to know the thematic evolution,
the articles were classified on flve blg
groups: Basic BioIogy,Clinics,Epidemiollogy,
Immunology and Therapeutics.
It was verified that the biological
área got in a consistent form about 1/3
the production on ali this period.
The works on clinics and therapeutics
showed a tendency to decrease and
seems to answer to the entry of the
pharmaceutic industry. The Biology and
Immunology showed a viable increase in
the decade specially on the Chagas disease.
Finally the titler analysis of the periodics,
showed that those 645 articles were
distributed on 90 magazines (68,7% on
national magazines and 31,3% on foreigner
magazines).
There was observed an absolutelly
and relativelly increase of the publication
on foreigner magazines, 10 magazines (7
brazilian and 3 foreigner) have about
62% of the publications.
It's debated the worth of studies of
this nature as an element of defínition of
the politics of cientific investigation.
