Etiologia das dermatofitoses em pacientes atendidos no laboratório de micologia do IPTSP da UFG

Resumo

This report constitules an evaluation of thc etiology of dermatophytosis in Goiânia city between january 1984 and december 1990, during which time 1531 samples of skin, hair and nail from patients diagnosed with dermatophitosis by direct examination. The dcrmatophytes were identified by microcultive in potato agar. The most frequently isolated species were: Trichophyton mentagrophytes (28,9%); T. rubrum (24,69%); Epidermophyton fJoccosum (17,12%); T. tonsurans (15,96%); Microsporum canis (11,39%); M. gypseum (1,29%); M. nanum (0,34%); T. verrucosum (0,13%) e T. violaceum (0,07%). It was verified predominance of lhe male sex (56,82%) with the most vulnerable age being between 20 a 40 years (52,04%) and that the feet, head, hand and inguino crural regions were the áreas more frequently infected with dermatophytosis (66,74%).
