Resumo
Results of weekly captures of mosquitos (Diptera: Culicidae) carried out in
Goiânia from January to December 1992 are presented. 11.323 Samples distributed
in 14 genders and 52 species were registered. Culex (Culex) dolosas, Aedes
(Ochlerotaíus) scapularis, Aedes (Ochlerotatus) serratus e Psorophora
(Janthinosoma) ferox were the most frequent species found. Species of
epidemiological importance such as Aedomyia (Aedomyia) squamipennis, Anopheles
(Nyssorhynchus) albiíarsis, Anopheles (Nyssorhynchus) oswaldoi, Anopheles
(Nyssorhynchus) strodei, Anopheles (Nyssorhynchus) triannulatus, Coquillettidia
(Rhynchotaenia)'juxtamansonia Culex (Culex) quinquefasciatus, Haemagogus
(Conopostegus) leucocelaenus, Haemagogus (Haemagogus) capricornii e Sabethes
(Sabethoides) chloropterus were also captured. For the culicidae capture the Castro
capturer and the Shannon and CDC traps were used. The mosquitos were obtained in
houses, by the use of human bait in the soil and platform, using animal baits, in bird
shelters and hog-sties. 329 Samples were registered in the houses, 6.045 in human
baits, 822 in birds, 41 in dogs, 27 in pigs, 2.114 in bird shelters, 11 in hog-sty, 1.724
in the Shannon trap, 139 in the CDC and 71 in an entomology net. The registration
of species bearing epidemiological importance nearby Goiânia downtown indicates
the potential risk of transmission of different endemic diseases in Goiás State by
these insects.
