Metodologia de criação, manutenção de adultos e estocagem de ovos de aedes aegypti (Linnaeus, 1762) em laboratório

Abstract

Due to the high demand of insects for biological studies and other uses, a temperature controlled biological chamber was built with the purpose of cultivating and keeping Aedes aegypti (Linnaeus, 1762) (Diptera, Culicidae) adults and eggs. The chamber was regulated to 28 ± l °C, humidity of 80 ±5%, and dark/light cycle of 12 hours. Data on larvae development and hatching, life cycle, gender and life span of males and females are presented.
