Diversidade ictiofaunística e compartimentação do rio Caiapó, Goiás, por usinas hidrelétricas

Abstract

this paper describes the species of fishes of the Caiapó River basin in a preliminary list, based on inventories related to environmental programs of hydroelectric power plants. The results indicate 86 species of 62 genera, 24 families, 2 orders and one class of fishes. We also evaluate the perspective of blockages of this basin with the construction of up to 14 hydroelectric power plants and its direct impacts on the diversity, migration fluxes, and population’s genetic diversity losses.
