Newsmaking in portuguese: uma discussão das hipóteses de Gaye Tuchman no contexto brasileiro

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the spread of ideas of the American sociologist Gaye Tuchman in the area of Communication, in Portuguese speaking countries, especially in Brazil. Therefore, we conducted a literature search of her studies in Portuguese and of publications about her. We will discuss her concepts and we will use it to analyze the news coverage of summary executions of criminal suspects and accused of rape and murder of children and women.
