Efeito da utilização de probiótico à base de lactobacillus sp. sobre o ganho de peso e desenvolvimento da mucosa intestinal de ratos (rattus norvergicus)

Resumo

This experiment was carried in the Laboratory Animal House of the Federal University of Goiás to evaluate the use of probiotic based on Lactobacillus sp. to rats (Rattus novergicus). A total of 30 adult male rats weighing from 211 grams (considered light) to 221 g (heavier) animals were allotted in collective cages with controlled luminosity and temperature. Animals were divided in three treatments in a randomized block design according to the live weight. The treatments adopted were: Group I – ration without probiotic; Group II – ration + 0.25% of probiotic and group III – ration + 0.5% of probiotic. The experimental period was of 40 days and each animal was weighed twice a week. After the sacrifice, duodenal fragments were collected for histological exam and no significant effect was observed in daily weight gain. In the analysis of the intestinal mucosa, the presence of probiotic in diet didn’t altered crypt and villus development of the small intestine.
