To.is experiment was conducted in a tomate culture area in the surroundings of Agronomy School of UFG with the objective of evaluate the effect of a new acarid-killer named avermectin against Aculops lycopersici (Massee, 1937), the tomato plant micro atarid. Toe experimental delineation used was random blocl,s with six treatments and four replicates. Treatments utilized were: Avermectin (Vertirnec 18 CE, 50,75 and 100 mUJOO l of water); Cyhexatin (Plictran 50 BR 100 g/1001 of water); Sulphur (Kumulus 80% PM, 400g/lOO 1 of water) and contrai. Pulverizations were made by using a portable costal sprayer, applying 30 mi of solution per plant. Estimations were made at 3, 7, 10, 14 and 21 days after treatments, sampling 10 leaves at random of 10 plants pertaining to 2 central lines of each pareei and counting the number of acarids aiming an area of 0,7 cm2/leaf. The results showed that the product avermectin was superior to other acarid-killers in ali estimations realized, presenting a control efficiency close to 95% at smaller dosage, until 21 days. Cyhexatin and sulphur reduced its efficiency during the experiment development.
