Resumo
The work was performed based on lhe data collected in João de Deus rural settlement, ai Silvânia, Goiás State. It searches to describe and analyse lhe settlement implementation process, once lhe land ownership profiles present land plots wilh significant variations, from 5 to 64 hectares per family. The lots distribution procedure did not follow coherent rationality of site geophysical and agroecological specification and settled population, specially about family composition. ln lhe process of project implementation INCRA protecionism is identified in relation, mainly, to large land owners and politicians in the region. It was anlysed lhe implications to production, as lhe avoídance of improved varieties, land rent contracts, land partnership, outside pasture rentals and aa:entuated rural evasion by family members, who become limited about the production expansion modes.
