As políticas de expansão da educação superior no Brasil e a produção do conhecimento

Abstract

The article discusses the production of knowledge in the context of policies of higher education expan- sion in Brazil, especially from the second half of the 1990s, considering its interfaces with the scientific field, in general, once the post-graduate studies and research in Brazil are structured for specific areas or large areas of knowledge. Are examined three fundamental aspects: the expansion and privatization of undergraduate and growth and pragmatism of postgraduate, the production of academic scientific- knowledge, marked by expansion, investment and pragmatism, and the nature and character of knowledge.
