Resumo

A myth is an element that proves to be useful to several generations as medium of instruction because of its polysemy. The pedagogical feature is common to all civilizations, and one of the mythical sets that have great influence in Western society is the Greek mythology. Among the many stories we have the myth of Perseus, the hero who faces Graeae, defeat the Gorgon Medusa, kills the sea monster and becomes king of Tiryns. The film knows enjoy these stories and the myth of Perseus has already made two film appearances (1981 and 2010). The purpose of this study is to analyze the latest film about the myth, Wrath of the Titans (2010), in an attempt to adapt the myth to contemporary society as a way of Paideia for the modern man and also their form of reproduction of the past because this is a film that portrays a historical period and creates that esthetics to his narrative, thus contributing to the formation of a concept of the past. Furthermore, supporting hypotheses to work with this film at the classroom.
