Avaliação de parâmetros reprodutivos em fêmeas bovinas de aptidão leiteira portadoras de pododermatite necrosante

Resumo

An experiment was conducted on six rural properties up to 100 Km away from the city of Goiânia, GO, from September of 1997 until January of 1998. The effects of foot rot on some of the reproductive parameters were evaluated on bovine females of the breed Girolando, which is known for its milking aptitude. According to the obtained results, there was significant comparative difference between the studied groups on the following parameters: average of time between foaling and first service; average of time from foaling to conception; fertility rate on the first service; amount of animals which presented regular ovarian cycling; and amount of animals suggested for discarding. It was characterized a poorer reproductive performance on those animals from the experimental group of foot rot bearers, and also, it was concluded that this condition might determine significant economic losses on milking farms.
