Resumo
The reading and the analysis of Bolivar ́s epistolary had allowed to conform what I call
“memory of indispensability”. In the interior of this memory, it is evidenced the presence of
the resentment and the solitude of the messenger, transformed into rhetorical elements that, in
turn, allow to access the limits of understanding and action of the historical actor. The
complexity of the messenger ́s limits (its belief in the freedom and the incompatibility with
the new public scene) goes to the meeting of the memorial myth on the place of America and
of its projects, therefore, given its importance, to catch such limits it is the pretension of this
article.
