Resumo

This research investigates exercises produced by ten-year-old children, attending the class E, Cycle II (5th grade of the elementary school), from Prof. Lourenço Ferreira Campos public school, located in Goiânia. It aimed to analyze how these children relate to the past and how they perceive the changing in time and space, considering three images of Goiânia city, it in different times. Three pictures of the city were selected, taken in 1937, 1942 and 2011, in order to execute the propo- sed task. It was brought to light that Goiâni city was planned and its construction started in the 1930s, whereas, in 1942, its cultural baptism composed of civic festivities was held and organised by the government.
