Cultivo do tomate industrial no estado de Goiás: evolução das áreas de plantio e produção

Resumo

This study sought to examine, in exclusivity, the production of industrial tomatoes in the State of Goiás State, discussing the history, evolution of planting areas, production volumes as well as the outlook for the productive chain of the tomato and its economic importance. Tomato historically has stood out among the products the chain of fruit and vegetables vegetable s (FLV) in the state. According to IBGE (Brazilian Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) Statistics ) in 2009 was allocated 18,109 hectares for tomato planting in the state of Goias, generating an amount of produced 1,427,144 tons of product. These figures confirm the highlight status as Brazil's largest producer of tomato and Latin America
