Resumo

Mangabeira (Hancornia speciosa), fruit species of the Cerrado, the economic potential for wide acceptance of its fruits, is undergoing domestication. The objective of this study was to evaluate the emergence and emergence rate index (IVE) seed mangabeiras coming from ten areas in the State of Goiás, where were randomly selected plants that were in full production. Of the 116 selected plants were collected 12 fruits, which were later pulped to obtain seeds. Obtained samples of 16 seeds per plant, and these, a subsample of two seeds which were sown in plastic tubes for evaluation of the following: emergence (%) and emergence rate index (IVE) (%). Between areas, the data were subjected to analysis of variance and means were compared by Tukey test at 5% probability. Within areas was conducted a descriptive analysis of the characteristics. In conditions in which the study was conducted it was observed that the emergence of the seeds began to 12th day after sowing (DAS), extending to 41, the average emergency H. speciosa Goias Cerrado was 55.4% and the average number of days to emergence was 22.64 (DAS).
