Hipertensão arterial sistêmica em gatos

Resumo

Systemic hypertension (SH) is a multifactorial clinical condition characterized by high and sustained levels of blood pressure (BP). In felines, SH occurs mainly as secondary disease and its main consequences are injuries to important organs like kidneys, heart, brain and eyes. Therefore, the knowledge of the main complications associated with SH, acceptable values of feline BP and appropriate techniques for obtaining them are needed. Therefore, routinely measurements of BP will help veterinarians to identify early cases of SH.
