Resumo
This brief study attempts to analyse a reading unit of a textbook used for teaching English as a foreign language in lhe light of Pearson and Johnson 's (1978) taxonomy of comprehension questions. This article also presents an example of a successful reading activity which explores ali types of questions listed by the Pearson and Johnson ( 1978). It aims at helping teachers of English as a foreign language to classify and balance the types of questions used in reading comprehension activities in order to ma.Ice them more effective and interesting for lhe leamers.
