Determinações físicas em frutos e sementes de baru (Dipteryx alata Vog.), cajuzinho (Anacardium othonianum Rizz.) e pequi (Caryocar brasiliense Camb.), visando melhoramento genético

Resumo

This study was carried out at Escola de Agronomia e Engenharia de Alimentos of Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), Goiânia, GO. The purpose was to evaluate physical parameters in fruits and seeds of plants of baru, cajuzinho and pequi. The results showed weight average of 28.30g, 1.84g and 104.44g to fruits of baru, cajuzinho and pequi respectively. The cajuzinho pseudofruit weight average was 7.15g it is at about four turns of fruit weight. Baru showed pulp yeld of 50.74% and 4.45% for nut. There were 1 to 4 normal seeds to every fruit of pequi (average 1.58) with 14.29g of weight every one. The results showed the fruit weight as the best physical variable to breeding studies of baru and cajuzinho species. In pequi fruits the number and weight of seeds showed low level of correlation with other studied variables. Althought all variables showed high own variation levels.
