The aim of this study was to compare the reactions of muscle fibers of the masseter of ten white mole mice of the Wistar lineage, from the same litter, with the age of one year and two months. Five were put under a past diet and five under o solid diet, considering the lost one as a control group. The tissue fragments were taken off from the masseter muscle dissected and cut into cross-sections slices on the insertion/origin axis. The technique used was the reaction of ATPose in acid and alkaline solutions with the propose to determine the muscular fiber types. The sample were analyzed in o computer system, the IMAGELAB, to specify the area and the perimeter of the muscular fibers, where the presence of three kinds of these muscular fibers, 1, li A, li B were observed. The statistical analysis used undertaken data from variance analysis, showing results, where the treatments using solid and past diets, didn't change the behavior of the type of muscular fibers either concerning the area or about the perimeter, also without differences among the total number the fibers per area.
