Resumo
In this work, we interpret the relationships and tensions between the LGBT movement in Goiás and other social actors who act substantively in public debates about sexual rights, such as the State (in the areas of the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary branches), other social movements, churches, media and academia. Thus the aim is to more broadly understand the context of the formation and action of the LGBT movement in Goiás, so as to help with the critical analysis of the current political impasses on the fight against homophobia and on the promotion of citizenship and human rights for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals in Brazil.
