Dor pós-operatória em dentes com inflamação pulpar - revisão sistêmica

Resumo

The aim of this work was to evaluate longitudinal studies about the pain after use of intracanal medicaments in treatment of inflamed pulp, using a systematic review. A MEDLINE search strategy was developed to identify articles using the following search terms: Chlorhexidine and Periapical pain or Symptom or Flare-up or Endodontic Post-treatment or Inter-appointment / Calcium hydroxide and Periapical pain or Symptom or Flare-up or Endodontic Post-treatment or Inter-appointment / Sodium Hypochlorite and Periapical pain or Symptom or Flare-up or Endodontic Post-treatment or Inter- appointment / Intracanal dressing and Periapical pain or Symptom or Flare-up or Endodontic Post- treatment or Inter-appointment / Intracanal medicament and Periapical pain or Symptom or Flare-up or Endodontic Post-treatment or Inter-appointment / Paramonochlorophenol and Periapical pain or Symptom or Flare-up or Endodontic Post-treatment or Inter-appointment. The search included articles from the MEDLINE (http://www.pubmed.gov), from 1966 to May 17, 2007. Considering the exiting estimative of analyzed studies, it could be observed evidence about the higher prevalence of absence of pos-treatment pain, when it was used an adequate sanitization process and a rational use of intracanal dressing in endodontic treatment cases of teeth with pulp inflammation.
