Resumo
The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology foresee the construction of one database that aggregates the information generated in the conception projects, required to the execution of one engineering work. Their use is justified by the creation of a digital model that allows the simultaneous work of multidisciplinary teams on the same three-dimensional reference. This centralization of project data allows a better information management mitigating compatibility issues to be avoided, as well as providing a more holistic view of the process. This paper aims a development of a mapping study of publications and contents about BIM, verifying the perspectives of the technology, its use in the project design and management. The methodology was based on the development of a Mapping Study, taking as a font for the research the following indexed databases: Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), Scopus, Compendex and Science Direct. A research was also carried out in the brazillian periodicals Ambiente Construído and Gestão de Tecnologia e Projetos, and at the Scielo and Infohab databases. The results obtained provide a horizon of progress in the application of technology. It also shows a tendency towards the defragmentation of teams in the development of engineering projects using BIM. Therefore, this work contribute for a better understanding about the develop of researches related to BIM, in its many vertents, providing important references about the studed theme.
