Resumo
This paper is the beginning of a refl ection on the language used in cartoons and comic
strips as an alternative way to contribute to Geography teaching. Their use is proposed
as auxiliary didactic tools in the teaching-learning relationship, contributing in the analysis
of varied categories and geographic scales. It is argued that the reading of those texts and
images, published by diverse means of communication, would stimulate the development
of the critical thought and a better understanding of data in the current quotidian.
