Resumo
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a strategic methodology based on reliability studies
to define appropriate maintenance activities for a system, ensuring the preservation of their
functions and avoiding functional failures. In this sense, the purpose of this work was to
analyze, through review of the literature and application of the methodology in an equipment,
the systematic of the implementation of RCM, helping in the professional qualification to work
in this area. It can be verified that the methodology studied presented positive results, with
the construction of a more specific and effective maintenance plan for the evaluated equipment, allowing an evolution in the efficiency of it. It was also verified the difficulty faced by professionals in the application of the concepts related to the RCM methodology, making valid the qualification objective of this work.
