Resumo
The history of the Brazilian black people is marked by the contradiction between racism and the myth of the Racial Democracy. This tableau is founded in the educational system, as well as in didactic books. We analyzed as the black people and Africa are represented in didactic books of Geography. In these works we see few references and mentions about black people, almost always represented in stereotyped forms. In analyzed books predominates the image of a wild, rural and poor Africa. The social and spatial African diversity there’s no showed. The repetition of these negative images influences the trajectories of all students and black students in a particular way.
