Resumo

This paper presents the analysis of two reading rooms of two schools of the municipality of Goiânia that meet the Cycle 1. The objective was to identify the identity of reading rooms through laws and documents and to verify if there is the exercise of these laws. For the development of this work, data were collected through interviews with reading room assistants and with the coordinators of the respective schools. As basis for this work were used documents and laws relating to the reading room - those that were located - and quality parameters for school library aiming to collect data about the identity of this environment. As a result, we highlight the need to take measures to make the environment have an identity and in fact gain more space within municipal schools, making it more accessible, as well as designing more projects that train readers, and creating dialogue mechanisms with the government and may thus require that the books actually reach the bookshelves in the reading rooms.
