Resumo
In this paper a team of tutors and the author investigate a pedagogical experience teaching and supervising a mandatory
course named Visual Arts’ History 2 at the Teachers’ Education Program in Visual Arts, through Distance Education of the
Universidade Aberta do brasil at the Universidade de brasília The goal purpose is to reflect on the aforementioned experience
in Visual Arts’ History and it’s relation to Visual Culture Studies. The data was collected from the students and tutorial
teachers’ participative exchanges’ universe in the course cyberspace, focusing the dialectical and ideological character
of the baktinian thought, as well as the critic methodology of the Studies of the Virtual Culture. The research suggests
the understanding of the virtual classroom as a ideologically consisted community, with conflicting speeches crossed by
several hegemonic representations; heterogenic answers from the students and different levels of comprehension when
confronted with a homogeneous History; absence of pedagogical and practical ways to change the paradigms in the
virtual classroom; the acting speed during the course limited time does not allow to make deep conclusions; reproduction
of the exclusion when not up to review the cracks in the students’ educational process. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the
educational process in distance education depends largely on the engagement, ability, autonomy, cooperation and spirit
of the team, as well as on the concatenated joint among all the participants of the process.
