Resumo
This paper cotributes to the recognition of the Art Déco style as patrimony of the population, having as target
audience, studens of the elementary school. The purpose is that they feel belonging to the city and its history
while they apreciate this style’s monuments in Goiânia, and, consequantly, that this monuments be present in
the memory of the population and properly valued and preserved. For that purpose, it will be done a study about the history of Goiânia, the reasons for the change of capital and the differences between the cities of Goiás and Goiânia. Furthermore, the Art Déco style will be studyed, with its particularities, its arrival in Brazil and the reasons to be chosen in Goiânia. It will be developted a book about the Art Déco patrimony in Goiânia, oriented for children between 8 and 10 years old.
