Resumo
This work aims to answer the following question: how does agroecological
knowledge, based on agroecology networks, guarantee the right to biodiversity and the
protection of traditional knowledge about seeds? With this, it aims to understand,
through a qualitative and bibliographic approach, how the process of industrialization of
agriculture occurred and what the consequences modernization brought to the
agricultural system, as well as to understand the way of acting of the agroecology
networks that aim to guarantee the right to biodiversity. The first chapter presents the
process of agricultural industrialization and the arrival of the Green Revolution in the
countryside, emphasizing the consequences of the implementation of its technological
package and the changes generated in the agricultural system, especially in relation to
seeds. The second chapter, aims to present the main Brazilian legislation dealing with
seeds and biodiversity, relating it to the existing forms of agriculture and the agrifood
system, addressing its influence on the maintenance of agrobiodiversity, food security
and the protection of native seeds. Finally, the third chapter, will address the alternatives
for resistance to the industrial agricultural system, starting with the analysis of
agroecological knowledge and the creation of agroecology networks, presenting their
forms of action and strategies for guaranteeing the right to biodiversity. Thus, it is
necessary to understand the relationship between legislation and the industrial
agricultural system and how this influences the creation of agroecology networks and the
construction of agroecological knowledge.
