Retratos da biblioteca escolar da rede estadual de ensino do estado de Goiás

Resumo

It presents a diagnosis of services, products, physical and organizational structure of school libraries in the public school system of Brazilian state of Goiás. Considering school libraries as a knowledge production environment, important to reader's formation, this article presents an exploratory, descriptive and documental study, from a quantitative-qualitative approach. It aims to analyze the reality of school libraries under government management. To collect data, it was used a structured questionnary, sent to 1150 scholls, between August and December of 2016. We recieved answers for 982 questionnaires, which represents 85% of the schools. Data indicates that 80% of schools have libraries, but only 12,18% of them has a space between 50 and 100 m². It is also observed an interest from the managers and pedagogical team in equipping as libraries in the best possible way. It is concluded that the State of Goiás is able to implement a network of State Libraries based on the partnership between university and state
