Resumo
In Brazil, about 90% of the structures of constructions are made of concrete.
This great volume of concrete structures was not accompanied by the increase on
researches about specific topics, such as concrete structures on fire condition. In Brazil,
this subject is regulated by standards NBR 14432: 2001 and NBR 15200: 2012, which are
based on the international regulations Eurocode 1, Eurocode 2 and ISO 834. However, the
International standards have design recommendations that have not been incorporated
into Brazilian standards. Thus, the study of local concretes in order to complement
national standards with new design parameters is relevant. The main objective of this
paper is to evaluate the influence of the high temperature on compressive and tensile
strength and on the modulus of elasticity of two medium strength concretes, one
conventional and one self-consolidating. For this, tests for compressive and tensile
strength, as well as modulus of elasticity, were performed on cylindrical concrete
specimens after being submitted to temperatures of 200, 400 and 600°C
