Resumo
This paper is a theoretical and methodological review of the
article “Acquisition of writing: the textual construction in O mapa do
pezinho”, by Rauber (2008). It adopts as fundamental point of view the
cognitivist studies about written language learning: on the one hand
an approach based on linguistic uses (functionalist); and on the other
hand a mentalist framework (generativist). The methodology used in this
study is the qualitative analysis of a text elaborated by a schoolchild. The
results show us that, regardless of the divergences related to the
development process of written language, cognitive sciences represented
in generativism and functionalism have a meaningful contribution to the
studies on the learning writing
