Abstract

This article has asitsobjective to make a study about the representation of the black man inthe short stories “Curso superior”, “Meu negro de estimação” and “Solar dos príncipes”, by Marcelino Freire. Uponreading suchshort stories, we intend to emphasize the distinctive representations of black male characters, as well as to problematizedifferent aspects regarding the objectification of the black body, the black identity, the racism, the prejudice and discrimination inside different social and cultural contexts.
