Uma análise de operadores modais em Trabalhos de Conclusão de Curso (TCC)

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the use of modal operators in Course Conclusion Papers (TCCs) to verify the conceptions of graduates in Letters / Portuguese about school and Portuguese language teaching. For this purpose, 10 TCC produced at the Federal University of Goiás were chosen and only the final considerations section was analyzed. It is usually in this section that the general conceptions of students in relation to school and Portuguese language teaching are most clearly concentrated. The results showed that the graduates of the Letters/Portuguese course tended to use the deontic type modality in order to envision a proposal-obligation that the School has to fulfill in view of its social commitment. Research of this nature helps to combine grammar and discourse.
